Corporal Stanley P. Arendt, U.S. Army, L Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, was lost on November 1, 1950 in North Korea while advancing on enemy forces. His remains were identified on July 27, 2009.
Chief Warrant Officer Two Jesse D. Phelps; Chief Warrant Officer Three Kenneth L. Stancil; Specialist Five Donald C. Grella; and Specialist Four Thomas Rice, Jr., all U.S. Army, Aviation Company, 7th Special Forces, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, were lost on December 28, 1965, while flying in a UH-1D over South Vietnam. Their remains were identified on June 1, 2009.
Privates Thomas D. Costello, Henry A. Weikel and Carl H. Willig, all U.S. Army, 5th Infantry Division, 60th Infantry Regiment, Company H, were lost on September 16, 1918, while advancing against enemy lines in France. Their remains were identified on August 4, 2008.
Major Curtis D. Miller, USAF, was lost on March 29, 1972, while flying an AC-130 with the 16th Special Operations Squadron over Laos. His remains were identified on Feb. 12, 2008.
