LEGION

Post 35 flagAn Open Letter to American Veterans Everywhere

The word is out that our country is looking for role models for our youth to emulate.
Well, they don’t have to look very far – you’re it – the constant heroes of the 20th century. At war or in peace, what you accomplished and how you served is not merely a part of the past; it is your legacy to our great nation. Stand tall and be proud, not only of your past, but, who you are now.
Live for today and look forward to tomorrow.

I salute each and everyone of you – every day of my life.”

Bob Hope

Mr. Hope died July 27, 2003 at the age of 100 at his home in Toluca Lake, Ca.

  1. Terry L. Warden Sr says:

The American Legion Has always been and always will be a part of my life. The Post in my home town was just across the street and we played army with the 2 cannons on the Legions front yard. It provided the Volunteer Ambulance Services, now the EMT Services today, for the town and surrounding area. I was honored to be part of that service and when I was asked to become the trainer/instructor for new and current member. I had to turn it down because I enlisted for the Army.
